Parker Banana Leaf Tray | Handwoven Rattan & Banana Leaf | Natural & Black | Medium & Grand
Parker Banana Leaf Tray — Handwoven Rattan & Banana Leaf | Natural & Black
The Parker Tray is a handwoven square tray in rattan and banana leaf — the base woven in a tight, flat weave of natural rattan strands running parallel across the surface, the sides and rim woven in a bold natural and black diagonal stripe pattern using twisted banana leaf fiber. The two weave patterns — the flat parallel base and the diagonal stripe sides — meet at a clean right angle at the rim, creating a tray that is visually complex from above and graphically bold from the side.
The rim is finished with a natural rattan binding — a single strand of natural rattan wrapped tightly around the top edge, the warm honey tone of the natural rattan framing the black and natural stripe pattern below. Two cut-out handles are integrated into opposite sides of the rim — the handles are formed from the rattan binding itself, the opening cut cleanly through the woven wall, the edges finished and smooth.
Why Rattan & Banana Leaf?
Rattan is one of the most durable natural materials available for woven objects — flexible enough to weave tightly, rigid enough to hold its form under load, and naturally resistant to humidity and temperature changes. Banana leaf fiber is a byproduct of banana cultivation — the leaves are harvested, dried, and twisted into fiber that is strong, flexible, and naturally water-resistant. The combination of rattan structure and banana leaf fiber produces a tray that is both lightweight and durable, with a surface texture that improves with age.
How It Improves Your Daily Life
The Parker Tray solves the surface organization problem — the coffee table, the console table, the kitchen counter, or the ottoman that collects objects without a considered place for them. The tray gives those objects a boundary and a visual anchor, turning a collection of items into a composed arrangement.
The Medium size works on a coffee table, a nightstand, or a bathroom vanity — for a small plant, candles, and everyday objects. The Grand size works on a larger coffee table or console table — for books, plants, and a full decorative arrangement. The two sizes are designed to be used together as a nested pair, as shown in the lifestyle image.
