Block A Clutch — Olive & Natural | Cotton Twill | KORISSA

A zip clutch in two-tone cotton twill — the upper half in warm olive green, the lower half in natural cream, divided by a clean horizontal color block at the midpoint of the bag. The fabric is woven in a diagonal twill weave that creates a fine herringbone-like surface texture across both panels, catching light at a slight angle and giving the cloth a quiet depth that a plain-woven fabric does not have. The zip runs along the top edge and is finished with a small natural cotton tassel pull. The left side carries a braided jute wrist handle — a short, firm loop of twisted and braided jute cord that allows the clutch to be carried on the wrist or held in the hand. Designed and curated by KORISSA, handmade by Fair Trade artisans.

The Color Block — Two Neutrals, One Decision

The Block A Clutch is built around a single design decision: a horizontal division of the bag into two equal halves, each in a different neutral. Olive and natural cream are not contrasting colors — they are two tones from the same warm, earthy palette, close enough in value to read as a considered pair rather than a graphic contrast. The olive is the color of dried herbs, of aged canvas, of the underside of a leaf in late summer. The natural cream is the color of undyed cotton, of linen left in the sun, of unbleached paper. Together they produce a bag that is visually calm and materially honest — a bag that looks like it was made from things that grew.

The horizontal division at the midpoint of the bag is precise and clean — the color change occurs at a single weft row, with no blending or gradation. This precision is the result of the weaving process: the color block is woven into the fabric, not printed or dyed onto it, which means the boundary between the two tones is as sharp as the weave structure allows.

How It Improves Your Daily Life

A clutch is the smallest useful bag — the bag you take when you want to carry only what you need. The Block A holds a phone, cards, keys, lip balm, and a small notebook. It is the right size for an evening out, a farmers market, a short errand, or a day when a larger bag feels like too much. The zip closure keeps everything secure without requiring a clasp or buckle to operate. The jute wrist handle allows the clutch to be carried hands-free on the wrist while still leaving both hands available.

The two-tone color block means the clutch works with a wide range of outfits and occasions. The olive panel reads as a color accent against neutral clothing; the cream panel reads as a neutral against colored clothing. The bag adapts to what it is paired with rather than competing with it.

Why Cotton Twill & Jute?

Cotton twill is one of the most durable woven structures available — the diagonal interlacing of the twill weave distributes stress across the fabric more evenly than a plain weave, which means the cloth resists tearing and abrasion better over time. The twill surface also has a natural drape and softness that makes it comfortable to carry and pleasant to handle. Cotton is a natural, biodegradable fiber — it does not contribute to microplastic pollution at end of life.

The jute wrist handle is braided from natural jute cord — strong, slightly rough to the touch, and warm in color. Jute is one of the most sustainable natural fibers available: fast-growing, requiring no pesticides, and fully biodegradable. The braided construction of the handle gives it a structural firmness that a simple twisted cord would not have — it holds its shape in the hand and on the wrist without collapsing or stretching.

Fair Trade Artisan-Made

Designed and curated by KORISSA, handmade by Fair Trade artisans. Fair wages, safe working conditions, community investment. The twill weave, color block construction, and jute handle braiding are worked entirely by hand. Slight variations in handle texture, color tone, and overall dimensions are inherent to the handcraft process. No two clutches are identical.
