Turkish towels — also known as peshtamels or hammam towels — have been hand-loomed in the Denizli region of Turkey for centuries, originally produced for the hammam, the traditional Turkish bath. The extra-long, tightly woven cotton fibers that define hammam textiles produce a fabric that is lightweight, highly absorbent, and quick-drying — qualities that make them as practical in a modern kitchen or bathroom as they were in a 16th-century bath house.

This towel is produced by small, family-owned workshops in Denizli. Only OEKO-TEX certified natural fibers are used — no harmful dyes, no synthetic blends. The tassels are hand-knotted by women working from their homes. Slight variations in weave density and color depth are inherent to the handmade process — each towel is one of a kind.
