Unlike the Bird Round design — which features a single bird in flight — the Owl Round depicts an owl at rest on a branch under a starlit sky, surrounded by leaves and stars. The owl motif is more detailed and more symbolic: a piece that invites a second look every time it appears at the table.

The owl is one of the oldest and most universal symbols in human culture — present in the mythology and folk tradition of nearly every civilization from ancient Greece to Native American culture, from the Far East to the Balkans and Anatolia, where this piece was inspired.

How to Use It

1. Preparation — before first use, rinse the terracotta stone with water and dry thoroughly
2. Heat the stone — oven: 350°F for 5–10 minutes | microwave: high for 2–4 minutes
3. Place in basket — use oven mitts or tongs to handle the hot stone; place in the seagrass basket
4. Set up bread — lay a cloth napkin or tea towel over the stone to protect from oil stains; place bread on top
5. Keep warm — cover bread with another cloth napkin; retains heat for up to 40 minutes
6. Clean — rinse stone with water after use and dry well. Hand wash only — not dishwasher safe. Never put the basket in the oven.
